The registration fee for the event is 3€, to be paid via PayPal or bank transfer (bank details will follow in a confirmation email). To make the event accessible to everyone, through the support from FENS and IBRO-PERC we are able to waive the fee for interested applicants. Please indicate if you are interested in this under “Apply to have the registration fee waived” in the form below.


We offer two streams: active and passive participation.

  • Active participants are invited to submit an abstract for a 15 minute blitz talk, followed by 5min Q&A. Talks will be grouped by topics and assigned to breakout rooms that run in parallel during the “Parallelized student talks” session from 4:15 to 5:15pm (GMT+2).
  • Passive participants would not present their own work, but have the opportunity to submit questions to the speakers via Zoom’s chat function.

Submission Guidelines:

If you would like to present your work as blitz talk, please submit a title and abstract in accordance with the guidelines outlined below. We don’t require submissions to be original or of exceptional significance. It’s more important that your work has clear implications for our multidisciplinary audience, which will include a mix of experimentalists and theoreticians.

The submission deadline is 15.7.2021.

Title: The title should be concise and highlight the main findings of your study.

Abstract (max 500 words): The abstract should clearly explain why your research may be a good fit for our broad audience of experimentalists and theoreticians interested in human/animal cognition. Please place your research in the context of the wider literature, state your research question, key findings and implications.

Presentation: If selected, we’ll ask you to prepare a 15 minute PowerPoint presentation of your talk. Each talk will be followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. You can choose to pre-record your talk and upload it to Youtube/Vimeo if you expect to have a patchy internet connection.

Recording: To accommodate participants from different timezones, we may offer speakers to have their talk recorded and posted on our youtube channel. This is entirely voluntary. If you’d like to have your talk recorded, please tick the corresponding box in the registration form.
